The Light in the Storm: Why I Left Corporate India for a Classroom

My journey began in the corridors of my own school. I was a student when I first started helping classmates who were struggling. A few minutes after school, or during a break—it was just a small act of kindness. It continued in college, tutoring a few juniors from my neighborhood. It never felt like "teaching." It was just helping. But after my 12th, it became something more. My days became a blur: mornings with 12th-standard students, college for myself, and then evenings back with the kids. I was exhausted, but I lived for those evenings. I waited for them. It helped pay my college fees, yes, but it was the joy in those small moments that kept me going. College ended, and I landed a placement at Patni Computers—a dream job. Yet, my evenings were still the most fulfilling part of my day. I would rush home to teach a handful of kids the only subject that truly made sense: Mathematics.

The Moment Everything Changed: Why couldn’t I let teaching remain just a passion? Because I remembered what it felt like to be lost. During my own entrance exam preparations, I was one of hundreds in a crowded classroom. I had the books. I had the questions. But I had no mentor. I was invisible, starting from zero every single day, drowning in a sea of students with no one to guide me. Years later, nothing had changed. Students were still lost in the crowd. Information was everywhere, but proper guidance was nowhere. Preparing for exams like JEE and NEET isn’t just about studying—it’s a mental and emotional marathon. It requires hand-holding. It requires someone who knows when to push and when to pause, when to be strict and when to listen. In 2010, I realized I couldn’t live a dual life anymore. I said goodbye to Patni Computers and hello to my true calling.

The Beginning: I started small, going from student to student, teaching math. But I was spreading myself too thin. My dream of helping many students felt unfulfilled. Then came the heroes of my story: Nitin Naudiyal and Yogesh Maurya. They understood the struggles because they had lived them. Together, we decided to build something different.

The JP’s Academy Way: At JP’s Academy, we keep our batches small—just 20 students—because mentorship cannot be mass-produced. We are there for every child, physically, mentally, and emotionally. In math, we start from absolute zero. We build foundations slowly, then raise the bar gradually. From simple understanding to high-level thinking, every student progresses at a pace that builds genuine confidence.

And the process has shown results. Over 1000 students have passed through our doors. We have solved countless doubts and spent thousands of hours together. The greatest reward? Seeing our students find their way into prestigious institutions like IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IISER Bhopal, VJTI, and Sardar Patel College of Engineering—a list that continues to grow.

At JP’s Academy, we believe in personal growth through confidence. We help students solve the most difficult problems and guide them through the stormiest phases of their lives. We strive to be their lighthouse when everything feels dark. A child will never know how good they are if they stop trying. Our job is simply to be the light that helps them see their own potential.
