From Passion to Profession – My Journey as a Physics Educator
“Education is not just about learning formulas; it is about discovering the beauty of understanding how the world works.”
My journey into teaching began long before I realized it would become my profession. During my engineering days, I often helped my friends prepare for their exams. At that time, I never imagined that helping them pass their exams would one day shape my career and lead me to guide students not only to pass, but to excel and even top their classes.
In 2017, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and began my professional career as a Junior Engineer in Andheri. While I was committed to my professional responsibilities, something within me kept drawing me toward teaching. After work, I would spend time teaching students in nearby societies. What started as a small effort driven purely by passion gradually turned into something much more meaningful.
Over time, I began noticing that students who were considered average started improving their scores significantly, and some even began topping the subjects I taught. This experience helped me realize something very important: when students develop a genuine interest in a subject, their performance naturally improves. This realization motivated me to take teaching more seriously. I began teaching in coaching classes and focused on making Physics interesting, relatable, and enjoyable. Over time, students not only started understanding the subject better but also began seeing me as their mentor and guide. Their trust and enthusiasm encouraged me to continue on this path, and eventually I realized that teaching was not just something I enjoyed—it was my true calling.
My first professional lecture as a full-time teacher was for 12th standard students, where I taught the chapter “Mechanical Properties of Solids.” That lecture, delivered at JP’s Academy, marked the beginning of my journey in teaching as a profession. From that moment onward, I committed myself to guiding students and helping them experience Physics in a way that is engaging and meaningful. Physics soon became the central focus of my life. I have always believed that teaching should not only educate but also inspire. For me, teaching has been as fulfilling as traveling—both are experiences that expand perspectives and bring joy. What started as a passion gradually evolved into a profession, and JP’s Academy became the place where I truly found my path.
Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy in teaching is simple: Physics should be understood, not memorized. Physics is a subject deeply connected to real-life situations, and when students learn to see these connections, the subject becomes much more interesting and meaningful.
In my lectures, I strongly focus on:
- Building strong foundational concepts
- Clearing doubts thoroughly
- Making Physics simple and approachable
- Encouraging an application-based approach
- Tracking improvement through regular tests and practice
Every lecture is carefully designed to combine basic concept-building with higher-level application-based questions, ensuring that students not only understand the fundamentals but also learn how to apply them effectively. My ultimate goal as a teacher is to help students overcome their fear of Physics and transform their perception of the subject—from something difficult and intimidating into something interesting, logical, and enjoyable. I believe that when students truly understand Physics, they also develop stronger analytical thinking that benefits them far beyond academics.
There is a simple saying that I often share with my students:
“Padhoge toh badhoge”
If you keep learning, you will keep growing.
And as I always like to say to my students:
“May the force be with you.”
